Where is town court held?
The Town of Wellsville shares a court facility with the Village of Wellsville. Both courts are held inside the Village of Wellsville Police Department building at 46 South Main Street.
When is town court held?
Town court is in session every Wednesday morning. T he clerk arrives by 8am and the Judge begins hearing cases on the docket at 10am.
Can I pay a ticket at the Police Station lobby window?
NO! The village police department is NOT an agent for town court. To pay fines or tickets, you must either appear personally or mail in your fine.
If court is held at the police station, why won't they take my money?
The court rents space from the village. The Police Department has NO connection with town court. Police officers and 911 dispatchers are not authorized to take your fine money and issue court receipts.
What if I don't appear in court as scheduled?
If you make no attempt to communicate with the Judge or Clerk, the court may issue a warrant for your arrest.
Where do I mail my fine to?
It is sent to Town of Wellsville Justice Court, 46 South Main Street, Wellsville, NY 14895. Made payable to Town of Wellsville Justice Court.
Can I pay my fine by personal check?
NO. Believe it or not, people have written BAD checks to the court. Although you'll be arrested for that as well - please pay by money order of certified bank check. DO NOT send cash through the mail. You may pay in cash ONLY if you appear personally in court
